International Day of Multilateralism
and Diplomacy for Peace
The Geneva Forum was established because the legal framework created after 1945 — the United Nations Charter, the Geneva Conventions, and international courts — is under attack. Every year on April 24, multilateralism and diplomacy for peace are commemorated, and an examination is conducted of where the multilateral legal order is under pressure, in order to articulate what compliance with international law requires of states today and to issue a joint declaration based on law rather than politics.

A shared legal position.
The Geneva Statement consolidates a day of legal dialogue into a concise position on the state of the multilateral legal order. It constitutes the principal outcome of the Forum and will be opened for voluntary signature by all Member States and organisations of the United Nations.

Note
The Geneva Forum has no commercial interests. There are no participation fees; all organisational expenses are covered by the participating partner organisations and through in-kind contributions. An association is currently being established as the Forum's permanent host. Until its constitution, Digital Business Consulting Osseili (dbco.) acts as the interim publisher solely to fulfil formal disclosure obligations under Swiss law.
